Life Without Barriers

Charitable Foundation “Posmishka UA” is implementing the project “Life Without Barriers: support for organizations, communities, people with disabilities, and children in the conflict-affected regions of eastern and northern Ukraine.”
The project aims to support people with disabilities by combining humanitarian assistance with capacity-building for local organizations to create a resilient support system.
Under the project, we provide:
- Comprehensive assistance, including trauma-informed psychosocial support, individual social case management, and emergency cash assistance for people affected by conflict and forced displacement.
- Safe and accessible spaces for children in hospitals and communities.
- Hygiene items and information on available services for people with disabilities.
- Support for organizations of people with disabilities through training, mentoring, and micro-grants to implement innovative solutions.
- Humanitarian assistance: providing hygiene kits for those who currently need extra help to cover basic needs.
The project covers the Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, and Sumy regions, taking into account the unique challenges of each area and the needs of its residents. This is a step toward ensuring that everyone, regardless of circumstances, can live without barriers and have access to the support they need.
The project uses a comprehensive approach to ensure adults and children receive essential support and to address the following:
- Emotional distress and stress related to the need for mental health support.
- Difficulties with documentation and obtaining the appropriate social status.
- Lack of hygiene items and other basic necessities.
- Limited access to specialized services for people with disabilities.
- Situations faced by orphans, unaccompanied children, or those deprived of parental care.
What support we offer
Psychosocial support
We conduct activities for adults and children in communities to help them cope with stress, fear, and fatigue.
Individual social case management
We provide one-on-one support to children and adults in difficult life circumstances. Together, we identify needs, create an action plan, and ensure the person is not left alone.
Humanitarian assistance
We provide hygiene items for those who currently need extra support to meet basic needs.
“Posmishka” psychosocial support spaces for children and families in hospitals
We create places where children, together with specialists, can join psychosocial support activities, creative workshops, active games, and social interaction. Activities are organized by age groups, taking into account the interests of both girls and boys.
Support for organizations of people with disabilities
We provide training and micro-grants.
