The “Be Here” project
The charitable foundation “Posmishka UA” is implementing the project “Multisectoral support for priority temporary housing locations, providing individual support to the most vulnerable populations, and implementing an educational program to make up for educational losses in the western part of Ukraine.”
We have researched the needs and challenges of internally displaced persons and incorporated support in various areas into the project: housing, health, education, and employment.
Project goal: to provide support to internally displaced persons through an individualized approach to help them restore a decent standard of living in their new location and to give children the opportunity to catch up on the school curriculum.
Support for children and adults:
Psychosocial support
- Individual and group consultations on mental health issues
- Stress-relief meetings
- Art classes, active games, exercises for cognitive development and maintaining physical fitness
- A friendly atmosphere and a safe communication space
Multisectoral team
- Training on how to start a business
- Consultations on obtaining grants for self-employment
- Assistance in obtaining grants for improving conditions in dormitories or funds for housing rent
Case management team
- Legal consultations
- Individual support
- Implementing a plan and providing follow-up support
- Handling cases with strict confidentiality and anonymity

During our research, we identified another major issue—children in border towns and communities lack proper access to education. Therefore, we are launching catch-up classes—the “Educational Recovery Program” in 5 communities in Rivne and Volyn regions.
We support children in border areas to catch up on their educational losses.
